Basny rugs are handwoven by artisans in the Carpathian region of
Ukraine, using traditional techniques and locally sourced wool. Like
all natural fibres, these pieces ask for a certain attention — and
with proper care, age beautifully.
Vacuum the top of the rug at least once a week and the back every
few weeks. Use a flat nozzle, not a rotating brush, to prevent
damage. Some shedding is normal in the first weeks of use and will
settle with time.
The thick pile holds liquid on the surface, so blot spills right
away with a paper towel or dry cloth. For spot cleaning, use mild
soap and warm water with a soft-bristled brush. If a stain proves
stubborn, contact a professional rug cleaner.
Rotate the rug regularly if it receives direct sunlight. Use
softening pads under furniture legs to prevent marking.
Have your rug professionally cleaned once every 12–18 months to
maintain its quality. When storing, fold the rug in half and roll it
up, keeping it in a dry place. For extended storage, consider a
natural insect repellent.
